The challenge
Classic fantasy football only works if there's a group of friends to organise: a league, an auction, a fixture list, someone keeping the books.
Undici had to bring the auction, the transfer market and squad building to people who don't have that group or don't want one, with a game you open for a minute a day that also holds up through the long sessions on auction days.
Our approach
We designed a game with two sides. UNDICI Online is a persistent management game: the league keeps running on the server even when the app is closed, with a pyramid of ten divisions, promotions, relegations and an eBay-style weekend auction between managers in the same league. Nostalgia is a full season with the classic clubs of the 1990s.
Around the game sits the collection: a sticker album with hand-drawn portraits, each one checked individually. The game is built for the browser, with a visual identity that feels like a game; the same codebase also delivers the iPhone version.
What we built
-
A league that never stops
Matchdays are played on the server four times a day, Monday to Friday, even when nobody has the app open.
-
Timed, eBay-style auction
You set your maximum and the server bids only as much as needed. Players come up in waves, the best in each position first.
-
Ten divisions
Each league promotes its winner and relegates the bottom three; the runners-up play for the remaining places in Saturday play-offs.
-
An album to complete
Every player is a sticker. Completing a classic club's album unlocks its legend in the online game.
-
An economy with balanced books
Income, wages and transfers are recorded with double-entry bookkeeping: every club's balance is always the sum of its transactions.
-
Built for the browser
Auction, transfers and line-up are easy to manage from a computer; the same code also brings the game to iPhone.

The result
Undici is live and free: you play in the browser with one account, and the league carries on by itself between visits.
